Life at the Jellycat Dog Hotel
2 minute read
*Reviewed by Otto Sausage Dog (guest, critic, clipboard enthusiast) *

When Otto Sausage Dog first checked into The Jellycat Dog Hotel, the signage read: “A hotel for elegant hounds”. Within seven minutes, someone had adjusted that to “excited hounds” in smudged pencil. That felt closer to the truth.
There was a mop rota. There was a bellhop (briefly). There was, crucially, gravy – which exceeded expectations. Otto stayed. He took notes. And he returned.
And now? The hotel is *thriving. *
The mop rota has vanished. The bellhop hat remains unclaimed. Out front, the shuttle bus – Wag & Wheels – has been converted into a mobile snack station. The horn goes off at random intervals. Nobody’s sure why. Nobody minds.
Inside, there’s a rhythm to the place. Floofie Sheepdog greets every new arrival like it’s their birthday. Isobel Chihuahua has commandeered the penthouse cushion. Derreck Dog is stationed in the middle of the lobby and hasn’t moved in forty-five minutes – not asleep, just… paused.

Pippa Labrador continues a solo game of fetch across the sun lounge. And Munro Scottie Dog has appointed himself Head of Security, conducting perimeter laps and handing out firm handshakes and homemade tablet to anyone who makes eye contact.
Then there’s the Golden Puppy – a Goodwoof Festival exclusive. No booking. No luggage. Instant VIP status. Guests stare, staff nod respectfully: it’s clear this canine newcomer is already setting tongues wagging…
The Jellycat Dog Hotel has quickly become the ultimate destination for anyone in need of a little luxury, a little leisure, and a lot of love – four-legged or otherwise.
And yes, the gravy is still excellent.
Verdict: ★★★★★
