Tentacles About Town, your Jelly Journal Society Column, on The Grove's Ski Club debut...
Los Angeles. All glittered with glacial splendour last night as Franilla Bunny – society’s newest hostess and cousin to the ever-dashing Bashful Bunny – unveiled her highly anticipated après ski nightclub at The Grove.
Guests arrived on ski-dos, in sequins, snow boots and high spirits, while one glamorous octopus – your very own Entertainment Editor, no less – took up her usual position: centrally located, seven eggnogs (just the seven, mind) and a notepad in hand.
The evening’s star attraction? Bartholomew Bear. Not only did his on-trend ‘Alpine Outfit’ turn heads, but the crowd erupted after his ‘Ski Slalom Samba’ brought the house down, much to his joy! The Jelly Journal hears Franilla first spotted him twirling at the Jellycat Ice Hotel and immediately requested both him and Bashful for her grand opening – and the pair were only too delighted with the complimentary flights and swanky hotel.

The West Coast’s finest were out in force. The only minor critique? Every canapé seemed to whisper cinnamon, which was a touch de trop for *this *octopus (but one must suffer for society journalism when the caterers are Amuseables Molasi Cookies…).
That said, the crowd seemed to approve.
Also spotted at the DJ booth: Amuseables Fitswell Mitten, one half of iconic pop duo ‘The Lost Mittens’ (rumour has it, they're searching for another replacement left-handed band member), testing out a few new tunes to match Bartholomew’s floor-filling moves. The beginning of a new power duo, perhaps? Who knows. But you heard it here first.
One thing’s certain: LA’s après ski scene will never be the same again.
