BREAKING: Masked ball invitations cloaked in mystery

Locals left spooked by cryptic clues.

Following Bartholomew Bear's recent report of a baffling party invitation, Jellycats from across the city have been flooding the Jelly Journal’s News Desk with near-identical accounts of mysterious missives.  

All bearing the same pumpkin wax seal – and all suspiciously lacking in information. No date. No location. No buffet details. 

With leads in every direction, Live News Correspondent, Amuseables Happy Boiled Egg, has clues to crack...  

Starting with? Timmy Turtle. While he’s happy to acknowledge that he did receive an invitation, his interest is firmly unpiqued. “I don’t go to masked events. I barely go to unmasked events.” 

And though the invites leave details of the party scant, Bashful Bunny suspects she might have the inside track on a date. 

“I had heard rumblings of a big bash on October 31 – I didn’

t think anything of it, but when you find your doormat sprinkled with bat confetti, you begin to wonder...”

Upon further investigation, footage from Leola Bear’s doorbell camera captured an elusive figure delivering her invitation.  

“I watched it back three times to be sure, and I could *swear *it was a ghost. Or at least someone who knows how to work a white sheet – the draping on their silhouette was like nothing I'd seen before!” 

Having found himself unexpectedly at the heart of the mystery, Bartholomew has also politely requested regular updates on all new developments.  

“I feel much better knowing it’s not just me. Now I’ve heard my friends will be there, I think I’ll ask Leola to start designing my outfit. This is my first masquerade ball, and it feels like the right time to be brave!” 

With an ever-expanding guest list and hourly reports of fresh invites, this case is far from over. Something is brewing – and Happy Boiled Egg won’t rest until the truth is unmasked.
